Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte in Sex and the City, is launching her own clothing line with Belk. Now, why would Kristin choose to launch a line at Belk, rather than Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, or one of the other higher end department stores? She has a very personal reason: "I grew up shopping at Belk. It was the nicest store we had, and I'd save my allowance to go to Belk."Many of us who didn't grow up near a big city can certainly relate! The line, which will feature a little bit of everything (shoes, handbags, lingerie, jeans, dresses, etc.), will range in price from $40 to $240, and will be "modern, feminine, [and] style savvy."Does anyone else find it interesting that the SATC stars seem to be interested in making fashion affordable (co-star Sarah Jessica Parker launched her Bitten line last year with extremely affordable items)? We're not complaining -- we actually kind of love it -- it's just interesting that the women who made Manolo Blahniks into something that girls in every part of the social spectrum crave are making a conscious effort to bring that type of style to the mainstream. We'll definitely be checking out Kristin's line when it's unveiled this fall.
